The Self-Portrait series began as an exercise in giving illustrative form to feelings. Positive physical and emotional states are depicted as well as negative ones. Responding to my body's present state and depicting it. The portrait is then printed.

Photography serves to document particular ideas about texture and other visual features to be included in later works. It's not uncommon for my photographs to be modified and printed onto mixed media works or to be drawn from as inspiration.
